In the beginning of a new year, we look back at the year that passed. I believe everyone will be able to point out one good thing that happened to them.
It may be that you've met new people... learned a new skill or got promoted. Whatever the case may be... looking back at some random moments or events, may only just now, be meaningful.
The same applies to the disappointments we may have experienced... It's funny that when the good things happens they are remembered but the feeling of those awesome moments fade quicker then the feelings of hurt and disappointments. As we replay hurtful events we reactivate the feeling that accompanied that event. Thus, our process of healing, acceptance or forgiveness takes a bit longer.
The Lord promise that...“No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord .

Self-Assessment Exercise
1. Take a nice deep breathe - then focus on the physically feeling of your heart... what do you sense you feel?
2. Again, inhale deeply and focus your mind on your belly... scan the type of emotions which you sense...
3. Now, inhale deeply and check your thoughts...
The Lord does not cause us strife. Thus, anxiety and depression is not part of His design for us, He gives us a spirit of power, love and a sound-mind.
"If anyone attacks you, don’t for a moment suppose that I sent them, And if any should attack, nothing will come of it. I create the blacksmith who fires up his forge and makes a weapon designed to kill. I also create the destroyer— but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged. Any accuser who takes you to court will be dismissed as a liar. This is what God ’s servants can expect. I’ll see to it that everything works out for the best.” God ’s Decree.

We may face difficult situations in different seasons of your lives. The Lord never says that life as His children will be easy but He does promise to be with us through it all.
"Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me."

The Almighty God, promise to walk with us through this sunless valley... I don't know about you but I will walk through it because God does not break His promises! So I will fear no evil!!! In this well-known Psalm the Lord makes known that not only will He walk with us but when we get hurt He will comfort and restore us. The Lord promise to protect and guide us.
Let's also keep in mind that God gave us free will to make our own decisions and sometimes those decisions results in painful consequences. But even then, the Lord will redirect those who seek His guidance, instruction and wisdom. I believe even when we still do not seek His guidance... The Sovereign Most High God still have a handle on our lives.
"Fully embrace God's correction as part of your training, for He is doing what any loving father does for his children. For who has ever heard of a child who never had to be corrected?" Hebrew 12:7 (The Passion Translation)
So, with all our tests and trails... Here is what the Lord wants to give us...
"If you only knew who I am and the gift that God wants to give you - you'd ask me for a drink, and I would give to you living water." John 4:10 (The Passion Translation)
"...for the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes [giving them eternal comfort].”
